 Humperdinck

Humperdinck the Troll, our grumpy but lovable Fairies Tell Theatre friend, adds a special charm to every performance. Though he may act like he doesn’t care for the spotlight, Humperdinck secretly loves to delight and enchant audiences of all ages.

He was born under a crumbling stone bridge in the Forgotten Hills and spent his early years guarding paths, scaring off goats, and minding his own business, but a chance encounter with a traveling fairy theatre troupe, changed Humperdinck’s life for good when he discovered a passion for storytelling with friends.

Though he plays the part of a reluctant entertainer, Humperdinck secretly enjoys the applause and audience interaction. He spends most of his downtime between shows snacking in the green room. One of his favorite activities is curling up for a long nap, preferably in a cozy, dark space where he won’t be disturbed by “those noisy fairies.” He’s notorious for dozing off right before performances and often has to be roused with a cup of mushroom tea and the promise of a cookie.

Offstage, Humperdinck is famously picky, especially about his pre-show snack, but despite his gruff exterior, Humperdinck’s inner softness and love for children endear him to staff and fans alike.(Humperdinck is a HORNDRIBBLES puppet by Mortimer J Mortimer)

Whitney is excited to be "treading the boards" once more, and what better show to jump back into theatre with than one running around with puppets!
